Freelance Journalist

My investigative projects have won many journalism awards and led to needed reforms. My series in the Albuquerque Journal about a heroin epidemic in northern New Mexico resulted in a U.S. Senate subcommittee field hearing and increased drug treatment funding that helped save lives. My investigative projects at Legal Times caused the dismissal of felony drug charges against 13 defendants, the criminal investigation of a slumlord for illegal housing conditions, and the firing of D.C. jail guards for failing to supervise mentally ill inmates who committed suicide in their cells.
