Freelance Journalist

I have covered police, crime, and courts across the country to explore the root causes of crime and injustices in the American legal system. I exposed the wrongful imprisonment of inmates in the nation's capital, an epidemic of prison rapes, and an international heroin ring stemming from the poppy fields of Mexico that triggered countless overdose deaths across the United States.        I have appeared on public radio, CSPAN and other media outlets to discuss my work, and my articles have been cited in court cases and law journals. My investigation of a deceptive D.C. police interrogation was featured in True Stories  of False Confessions, an anthology published by the Center for Wrongful Convictions at Northwestern University School of Law.
